corsica 3: bonifacio

Monday morning woke us with distant tractors and donkeys. After breakfast, we drove to Bonifacio and walked along the cliff’s edge for views toward the town, and then down to a cove under the white stacks of rocks for lunch and exploring.

Wind and high waves came into the cove, so we climbed back up and headed for Piantarella where we found a quiet sandy beach with clear blue-green water. We went for a swim and watched the wind surfers.

On our way back, we stopped back in the town of Bonifacio to wander the thin streets and made our way down the stairs of Aragon in the fading light.

We pulled off the main road to a small beach just in time to see the sun sink into the sea, and continued back to the cottage for dinner and reading before bed.
