hiking: le reculet (1718m)

Although we've spent many early morning runs in the Jura this summer, it has been a long time since I've made the trip up to Le Reculet. Today is irresistibly clear, so I gathered our gear, hopped on the train, grabbed some Holy Cow! burgers, and convinced my hiking partner to picnic at Tiocan before making a sunset hike. Spontaneous Tuesday night date!

We saw a group of nearly a hundred chamois on the slopes above the Narderans, and reached the top with lots of light still in the sky. What a view!

It was windy and cool at the top, so we didn't wait for too long before starting the descent. We were still above the tree line to watch the sunset and then made our way down the forest trails with our head torches and shooting stars. The round-trip took less than 3 hours...so why don't we do this every night?
