We're starting our first full day of staycation with a usual Saturday hike. Today we ascended to Lac Blanc (2352m) from Tré le Champ le Bas just outside Chamonix. The hike gains altitude quickly with tight switchbacks up to Aiguillette d'Argentière.
From here there is a series of ladders and aids to help scale the red rocks before reaching Lacs des Chéserys for a snack and a swim.
Next stop: Lac Blanc and more amazing views.
We traced back the route for the downward journey, accompanied by grazing ibex.
