Eek! While Derek tried to figure out why we didn't have hot water, I started cleaning the cave, and encountered a rather large eight-legged housemate, cozy on the side of a stump. (The stump is another story).

"How big?" you ask... as big as I can make my thumb and forefinger to depict "this big," while we both grimace.  So that's about five inches. Just the usual harmless house spider (I think), but one that was big and hairy enough to make me nervous reaching my camera  up to it.

He's doing a good job of guarding the wine.

Finally, a clear day with a breathtaking view of the mountains. At lest it happened once while Michele was here. After finishing setting up the gallery, we took an afternoon trip to Annecy.

A great day of sun, the lake, some crepes, and the views before tonight’s reception.

..... And we're back, ready for the opening with wine and raclette to complete the cheesy tartiflette-fondue-raclette trifecta necessary for any traveler in our region.

We had a nice crowd, given the terribly short notice. We're hoping to make this a monthly affair- future visitors beware...you may be asked to participate. That's our send-off for Michele. Safe travels friend, we have so enjoyed your visit!

After the market, a short walk up to the fort, before some time at CERN and preparing for tomorrow’s event...
