The cloud blanket is still (after about 2 weeks) stretched to fill all the spaces between the mountains, so it's another dark gray day in the valley. Luckily we don't have to go far to see the sun (I desperately need some sunshine). Today we got pedestrian passes to ride the telecabine above Crozet, strapped on our crampons, and went for a hike around the ski area and snowshoe trails in the Jura. I couldn't believe how warm it was in the sunshine, and how much blue sky there was above the clouds. We ate a picnic in the snow and fished the hike with a decent sunburn. Even though there is still time left in the ski season, I'm really antsy to get back to hiking...this helped.
Snow angels...trying to cool down.
