going to america

We're headed to Chicagoland on a noon flight to visit family and good friends, attend a wedding, meet our new nephew, eat too much, and hopefully not slack too horribly on our training. It's going to be a fun-packed two weeks, with maybe some time to relax. But before all that happens, it seems like a good idea to squeeze in one more morning trail run up to Crozet before going to the airport: à bientôt mountains - we're off for two weeks on flat lands.

montreux jazz festival

We finally went to the Montreux Jazz Festival! After several summers of letting this big event slip past us, we decided to cross our fingers, head to the oposite end of the lake, and hope to get tickets for tonight's performance by The Lumineers. We hopped in line just before the box office opened, got our tickets, and went for a stroll through all the festivities along the lake. We ate our picnic and headed to the show. 

The Lumineers put on a fantastic concert. Great energy and so much fun!
