picnic

After a good, but surprisingly frigid, Crozet run, we met friends in the vineyards for a Sunday picnic. We were the final hold-outs refusing to go inside, hanging on to the shortening summer hours.

hiking: le reculet (1718m)

Another sultry day. I thought it might be a little cooler up at Reculet...it really wasn't. I wore myself put just getting to the base of the Jura, before beginning the ascent, but it was nice to be out on the trail. No Alpine views since it was hot and hazy, but I saw quite a few chamois, few other hikers, and enjoyed a quiet day in the mountains.
