On Sunday we spent relaxing morning with croissants and coffee before heading to the market to gather goodies for the day. We spent the afternoon strolling the lakefront in Morges, lulling in the park, and enjoying another sunny day.

Today, I took MK on the obligatory Geneva tour- Jet d'Eau, St. Pierre Cathedral, flower clock, cobbled old town, chocolate shopping, and rounding back to catch the train to the airport.  We had a great visit and are so happy to have friends and family make the trip.

hiking: refuge de sales (1870m)

This morning, we headed to the same valley as last Saturday, starting at le Lignon, but hiked along the GR96 to Refuge de Sales (1870m). This was a beautiful walk with streams, waterfalls, and easy footing. The trail followed a stream through the narrow valley sided with steep, greening cliffs.

We sat on a grassy knoll dotted with wildflowers above one of the cascades for sandwiches and a mid-way rest.

Onward and upward to more waterfalls, the refuge, and tea at the chalet a friendly mountaineer. We listened to the cuckoo saw marmots, chamois, and plenty of large horned ibex.

Time for the descent, and a cool evening for a late night raclette dinner back at Chez Strom.
