la trapette, grand montetes

I think I am finally done being sick, finally. Derek and I decided to try out the new ski touring route at Grand Montets. I was happy to find a few controlled routes  for touring to practice kick turns and build our skills. It was a beautiful climb (up 45 switchbacks) through the wooded trail.

Today Laura and I are off on our first ski outing together. We decided to make our trip up at Flaine, a route that we have each done before (the only route I've done). I'm still getting a feel for this lightweight set-up, and enjoying the new challenge of skiing uphill before we start planning bigger adventures.
